so tell me, how does this work?
The first step in understanding Sports OxyShot with
CSO2™ is to appreciate the unique, proprietary bio-electrical manufacturing process pioneered by NASA.
Put simply, deionised water (cleansed of all organic compounds and impurities) is exposed to an electric charge. This process of electrolysis progressively "de-composes" the water by removing hydrogen from the H2O and by uniquely bonding the surplus oxygen molecules together. A small quantity of natural sodium chloride (in the form of sea salt) is added to facilitate an electrolyte solution and enable the solution to remain stable whilst "super concentrating" the oxygen level. The oxygen is "stabilised" (meaning 'locked in' to solution and prevented from becoming a 'gas').
This represents a world breakthrough in oxygen technology. Not only due to the stable qualities of
CSO2™ but due to its balanced pH it is safe to ingest and use topically. Older technologies require a chemical process that results in potentially toxic pH levels.
how is sports oxyshot absorbed into the body?
Typically atmospheric oxygen (a gas) is delivered to the body via the lungs. In contrast, Sports Oxyshot (although rich in oxygen) is not a gas, it is an aqueous solution and like all solutions (eg water, alcohol etc) is absorbed via the gastro-intestinal tract, across the gastric membrane.
As the gastric membrane is similar in nature to the tissues of the lungs the oxygen ‘locked in solution’ crosses over into the blood stream in the same way and this by-passes the first two steps of aerobic respiration (ventilation/gas exchange).
The oxygen in a 10ml dose of Sports Oxyshot whilst not in itself a lot of oxygen (1.5ml) compared to normal respiratory oxygen is however in a very concentrated form (15%) in the solution and this difference is the key to it's effectiveness.
how does this help the athlete?
Research conducted in the UK, Japan, USA, and Australia has shown that following ingestion of Sports OxyShot marked increases in the partial pressure of arterial oxygen (PO²) have been measured.
In addition, exercise testing at Victoria University in Australia and the University of Hull in the UK during 2005 have also shown increases in oxygen uptake at the an-aerobic threshold.
The more oxygen athletes have in their system the more efficiently they can perform and the increases of usable oxygen (up to 150-200ml per minute) found when using Sports OxyShot have been demonstrated under laboratory conditions to enhance the physical performances of athletes.
How can this be happening?
Exercise physiologists have been aware for a long time that a phenomenon known as “de-saturation” exists among some athletes where the haemoglobin ‘dumps’ oxygen into the muscles, thus increasing the oxygen available to the muscles without increasing cardio-respiratory rates.
A similar event may be encouraged by taking Sports OxyShot prior to the intense exercise event.
This could explain the disproportionate O² metabolism (150-200ml/min) from ingesting only 1.5ml from a 10ml dose of Sports OxyShot.
Possible mechanisms?
Observers of oxygen therapy, using traditional forms of O² in solution (hydrogen peroxide) even in very small doses (5 drops) have recorded changes to enzyme 2,3 DPG, in the haemoglobin this can lead to a shift in the ‘HbO²’ dissociation curve to the left and by speeding up the delivery of oxygen to the muscle tissues, improve the efficiency of existing haemoglobin and cardio-respiratory functions.
Current and on-going research
Puralife is committed to ongoing research to investigate the performance benefits of using Sports OxyShot and the possible link between OxyShot, Enzyme 2,3 DPG and the enhanced performance reported by elite athletes and observed in the laboratory trials in the UK, USA and Australia.
How much should I take?
The suggested serving is 10ml, taken orally and on an empty stomach 30 minutes before exercise or competition.
How do I take Sports OxyShot?
Administer up to 30 minutes prior to activity. Administer orally on an empty stomach. Best taken neat, held under the tongue for 15 seconds before swallowing. For best results take Sports OxyShot at least 30 minutes before eating or two hours after eating.
What are the ingredients in Sports OxyShot?
Sports OxyShot contains de-ionised water, a minimum amount of naturally formed sodium chloride (in the form of Sea Salt) and a minimum of 15% v.v of charged stabilised oxygen (CSO2™) at manufacture.
How long does it take to notice results?
Because of physiological and bio-chemical individuality, this varies from person to person. Many people report they feel livelier and brighter from the day they start taking Sports Oxyshot but for others the effects take a few days or up to a couple of weeks to be noticed. If you have a significant oxygen debt then you may experience a feeling of light-headedness; however it will not last more than a minute or two. In that instance, try a slightly lesser serve initially. It is important to take Sports OxyShot on a daily basis (preferably twice a day) on an ongoing basis for best results. Sports Oxyshot does not make you feel drowsy however it will assist in calming and relaxing, so many people find it useful to take before bed.
Are there any side effects when taking Sports OxyShot?
There are no known side effects. However, if you take too much Sports OxyShot at one time you may develop a headache and feelings of nausea.
If side effects occur should I stop taking it?
No, by continuing to take the supplement it will expedite the detoxification process allowing the individual to perform at their maximum. As quoted from Valerie Saxion Ph.D, N.D "Oxygen displaces deadly free radicals, neutralizes environmental toxins, and destroys anaerobic (depleted of oxygen) bacteria, parasites, microbes and viruses." And in an executive summary from Suntory International: "(oxygen's) remarkable ability to scavenge free radicals widely thought to be a central causative agent in premature ageing."
Will Sports OxyShot interfere with any nutritional supplements or medications?
No.
Can you take Sports OxyShot and other nutritional supplements or medications at the same time?
To obtain the maximum benefits, it is preferred and recommended to take Sports OxyShot on an empty stomach 30 minutes before food or other nutritional supplements or medications.
Can children take Sports OxyShot?
Yes but under Adult Supervision.
Is Sports OxyShot pH balanced?
Yes. Sports OxyShot is balanced to a slightly alkaline state which is beneficial to the body.
How much oxygen is actually in Sports OxyShot?
It contains at least 15 % v/v (volume-to-volume) which is equivalent to 150,000 parts per million of stabilized bio-available di-atomic oxygen at manufacture.
What is the shelf life of Sports OxyShot?
It is about 8 months for an opened bottle and 18 months for an unopened bottle.
What is the difference between Sports OxyShot and hydrogen peroxide or other oxygen supplements on the market?
Sports OxyShot should not be confused with the Chemical Chlorite compounds which are available on the market and which represent an older, now outdated approach to providing oxygen supplementation.
Sports OxyShot is a liquid solution which contains intact oxygen molecules ready for immediate absorption, the older Chlorite type compounds must first come into contact with the acid in the stomach before oxygen is released by way of a vigorous chemical reaction.
Also, Sports OxyShot should not be confused with hydrogen peroxide, a compound which can cause problems if not administered properly and with appropriate care.
How should I store Sports OxyShot?
Once opened it is best stored in a refrigerator, however you can store Sports OxyShot at room temperature. It is important to keep it out of direct sunlight. Do not freeze Sports OxyShot.
What is De-Ionised Water?
De-Ionised water is a very pure form of water that has had ionic chlorides removed.
